The fabric is a textile re-created using modern weaving techniques, based on digitally archived designs of Isesaki Meisen. It harnesses the unique "blur and sway" inherent in Meisen's ikat. The pattern is somewhat exotic and resembles a cipher.
By combining it with genuine leather instead of just fabric, it adds a touch of elegance that prevents it from becoming too casual.
This bag's design suits both Western and traditional Japanese clothing.

＜About Isesaki Meisen＞
A silk fabric that flourished in Isesaki City, Gunma Prefecture, from the Taisho to early Showa periods.
The greatest appeal of Isesaki Meisen patterns lies in their boldness. Geometric patterns are freely combined with natural motifs such as flowers and plants, and dyed with an exceptionally vibrant color palette for kimonos of that era. Furthermore, the distinctive "blur and sway" — a slightly softened outline where colors blend smoothly, derived from the pre-dyed ikat weaving technique — creates a soft depth unmatched by other kimonos.
More individuality than formality. More freedom than rules. Meisen was a fabric whose patterns embodied such a spirit. Just as women of that time unhesitatingly chose its colors and patterns, MEISENNE inherits that aesthetic sensibility in a modern form.

Compared to ordinary jacquard fabrics, ours is woven much more robustly with several times the number of warp and weft threads.
Yarns are carefully selected to reproduce the luster and presence characteristic of Isesaki Meisen.
